The Bexar County Medical Board is honoring Dr. Manuel Quiñones with the Golden Aesculapius Lifetime Service Award. Let’s celebrate a New Year and Dr. Quiñones Saturday, January 19th, 2019 at the Mays Family Center at the Witte Museum at 3801 Broadway St, San Antonio, TX 78209. This award is truly something to be proud of and an honor for Dr. Quiñones to receive!
In 1980, the Bexar County Medical Society established the Golden Aesculapius Award as our highest honor recognizing a lifetime of distinguished service by a BCMS member to our patients and our profession. This award is not given annually but only upon the occasion of nomination and confirmation of distinguished service. It is to be given to only one physician per year.
Eligible physicians are BCMS Members who have provided a lifetime of distinguished service to the medical profession in Bexar County. In the past, the award has been given at the BCMS Installation of Officers event, but can be given at any event agreed upon by the BCMS Board of Directors.
The committee is to solicit potential honorees for the award from the general membership of the Society. The committee then meets to review recommendations and select the most deserving candidate. The committee should rank candidates in an objective way, taking into account their service to the Bexar County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association on committees, boards or in other ways, as well as service and accomplishments to patients, community service, and furthering the practice of medicine. This committee subsequently makes their recommendations to the BCMS Board of Directors.
There will be a cocktail hour beginning at 6:30 pm with dinner and the program beginning at 7:30 pm.
