Flu Shot

Flu Season is here!

Did you know that the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones against the flu is to get vaccinated?

The flu is a very contagious respiratory disease and can lead to serious illness, hospitalization and in some cases even death. Those at highest risk for complications from the flu are pregnant women, people over age 65, people with chronic medical conditions and those caretakers who take care of those at high risk.

While there are some people who still become sick despite getting vaccinated, studies have shown that the severity of the illness was reduced. You can further prevent flu by practicing good health habits like covering your mouth when sneezing and coughing and washing your hands frequently.

Seek your HealthTexas provider for flu and vaccine information and protect you and your loved ones this flu season!
