Kelly Thurmon, DO

Dr. Kelly Thurmon was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in 2000. Dr. Thurmon attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where she received her degree in 2006.

After graduation, Dr. Thurmon completed her residency program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center/UMC in Lubbock, TX. Dr. Kelly Thurmon is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

As a hospitalist, Dr. Thurmon’s primary responsibility is to oversee the care and management of hospitalized patients. She sees a variety of acute illnesses and has the ability to treat a wide range of medical problems. It’s her job to communicate with your PCP frequently in addition to any subspecialists whose expertise is needed in order to provide the highest quality of care in the hospital as efficiently as possible. Once you are ready to be discharged from the hospital, Dr. Thurmon updates your PCP regarding your hospital course and provides them with information about your specific needs in the post discharge period.

When not taking care of her patients, Dr. Thurmon enjoys horseback riding, home landscaping projects, and playing with her dogs.

Dr. Thurmon is married and has two quarter horses and one Great Pyrenees.
