Dr. Ricardo Villanueva Alvarez was born and raised in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, where he began his education journey, attending both undergrad and medical school at Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi. He then ventured to LSU Health Shreveport for his residency in Family Medicine, where he earned recognition as Chief Resident.
Dr. Villanueva Alvarez’s journey into medicine was sparked by a lifelong love for science, which grew into a deep fascination with the wonders of the human body. To him, medicine represents the perfect blend of his scientific curiosity and his natural urge to lend a helping hand. Guiding patients toward wellness and witnessing their recovery brings him unparalleled satisfaction.
Outside of his medical duties, Dr. Villanueva Alvarez enjoys exploring the world with his family, staying active with CrossFit, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, including boxing, soccer, and football.
