Vanessa Sanchez, MD

Dr. Vanessa Sanchez, a native of McAllen, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine. She then pursued her residency in Family and Community Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, where she received comprehensive training in patient care. Dr. Sanchez is fluent in Spanish and is proud to serve the diverse communities in which she works.

Dr. Sanchez’s decision to become a physician was shaped by her upbringing in a family closely connected to healthcare. Growing up, she was inspired by the impact healthcare professionals had on her community and was drawn to the opportunity to lead within a healthcare team. During her residency, she demonstrated leadership by serving as class chair in her first two years and was later elected as the Administrative Chief Resident in her final year.

In her personal time, Dr. Sanchez enjoys cooking meals with her husband, binge-watching new shows or movies, and spending quality time with their rescue dogs. A fun and unique aspect of her life is that holiday birthdays run in her family, adding an extra special touch to her celebrations. Dr. Sanchez is dedicated to both her patients and family, balancing her professional life with the joys of home life.
