“HOOSIER” STATE NATIVE NOW A TEXAN DOCTOR BRAXTON FRITZ JOINS HEALTHTEXAS

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (AUGUST 2024)Dr. Braxton Fritz was born and raised in Indiana, where he earned his bachelor’s degree at Taylor University before attending Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at the Self Regional Family Medicine Residency program in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Fritz returned to Texas as a Board Certified Family Medicine physician, and soon moved his wife, Stephanie, a nurse by training, and his 4 children all under the age of 10 years old, to the Lone Star State.

Dr. Fritz finds it extremely rewarding to help patients with their health goals while delivering quality care to each; a primary reason that attracted him to HealthTexas.
An avid outdoorsman, Fritz says they try to spend as much time outside as possible enjoying hiking and boating. Once a long-distance runner, an ankle injury curtailed his running days and now mostly takes his children and wife camping and swimming.

He starts August joining the medical team at HealthTexas Helotes Clinic, 11820 Bandera Rd, Ste. 102, San Antonio, TX (78023).
His move to Texas came after having practiced medicine in several states including Wisconsin, Wyoming, and another country, Ecuador.
Practicing medicine was inspired by his undergraduate research abroad while in Cuenca, Ecuador. His studies included shadowing doctors who practiced at a regional hospital and allowed him to experience first-hand the urgency of quality primary care.

HealthTexas Primary Care Doctors

Celebrating 30 years in 2024, HealthTexas was established in 1994 by local physicians who recognized the need for primary care doctors to combine their passion, skill and resources to improve the health of the patients within the local community. HealthTexas has grown to include more than 65 healthcare providers in 18 primary care clinics in and around the San Antonio region all working toward that same goal.
