About Us

Our History

For more than twenty-five years, HealthTexas Medical Group has been providing primary care to families in San Antonio, Boerne and New Braunfels. Established in 1994 by local primary care physicians, our founders saw a need to combine passion and skill to improve the health of their patients. Since then, HealthTexas has grown to include more than 60 healthcare providers in 17 primary care clinics in and around the San Antonio region.

Our Story

HealthTexas was founded with 4 doctors and 2 clinics (Lexington & SR Pavilion)

1996

Our Hospitalist Program started

2002

HealthTexas is first private group in San Antonio to implement “No gift policy” from pharmaceutical co’s

2008

ABI’s brought is brought in-house

2010

Contracted to be major athletic sponsor UTSA athletics

2018

October 1st, 1994

HealthTexas embraced Medicare & Commercial risk

1998

HealthTexas opened ancillary lab at SouthWest Medical Clinic

2006

Spirometry testing is brought in-house

2009

Educational classes start in Nutrition, Spiritual Support, Stress Management, and weight gain reduction

2011

Dr. Richard retires from HTMG, Dr. Kristi Clark named as President/CEO
